Volunteer training this Saturday!

Hello,

I hope everyone safely made it through snowmaggedon last week! While the snow has put me in quite the Olympic spirit, I do wish we had a bit of Sochi's weather... Regardless, here are a few important updates to keep in mind while admiring the YOLO flips, twizzles and Norwegian curling team's pants this week:

(ATTN: EXPERIENCED VOLUNTEERS:)
1. Continuing make-up lessons. Given the cancellations last week, we've adjusted the lesson schedule to continue holding make-ups this week. The new schedule is at the bottom of this email, but the take-away is that double make-ups will be happening on Wednesday and Thursday this week- so we'll need as many volunteers as possible then! Please pay close attention to the schedule, and if your name is down for either of those days, double-check your schedule. If you aren't going to be able to make it, please let me know ASAP (or edit the google spreadsheet).

(ATTN: BRAND NEW VOLUNTEERS:)
2. Intensive volunteer training on Saturday! 10-12 AM
Rain or shine we're planning on holding volunteer training and activities on Saturday. So, if you've been considering volunteering, but weren't sure when would be a good time to learn the ropes, this is the perfect chance! If the weather is nice we'll hold activities at our normal barn next to the Lower Ring. If it rains, we'll make use of our wonderful new indoor space at the Higgins house and use the more sheltered stalls down below.

(Thank you Emma for nice wording  )

Another make up week

Hi, to all
here is one more cold week  and last chance to do make up lessons for the first Winter Class.
Monday- Thursday full schedule.
Volunteers, come and help Spirit's work
Thank you,
Dada

Let me know or just come tomorrow at 9 at the Barn
Looking forward to seeing you
Warm regards,

Make up of make up :)

Dear all,
I hope you are safe and you did dig out your driveway, car and trees around your house are strong in this snow, without fallen branches, I hope you have electricity, your AC or any heating system is working well....

No way to do any lessons this today and tomorrow (Thursday and Friday)

My big plans for make up are falling apart.

So, here is the plan for make up of this make up :) next week:

  • Monday - no more make ups scheduled, but those who miss any lesson beside canceled ones, let me know and you can have you lesson Monday
  • Tuesday - second make up for Tuesday riders :)
  • Wednesday & Thursday - both days we shall do make up lessons for Wednesday and Thursday riders together (instead today and tomorrow lesson as it was scheduled before).
All lessons starts as usual 6 and 7 PM for Monday and Tuesday, and 6 PM Wednesday and Thursday.

I think that spring is in the air for next week and we shall be able to run second winter class as scheduled.

Thank you for your patience
Stay safe and warm,

Make up of make up...

Such a great lesson tonight, and I am so sorry that did not take my phone to record it .

Watching weather forecast and learning about Pax .
Ugh

No panic, please  - we can make all promised make ups.
Next week is wide open, and all riders scheduled for Thursday if the skip this make up day ( which will the most likely be canceled, if FCPS announce Snow Day again) can count for another chacne.

Makeup for this Thursday make up will be arranged next week on regular schedule - Kids will be able to ride Wednesday,19th, and adults will be able to ride Thursday, 20th.

Thank you for your patience, and just stay with Spirit!

It is warmer around horses

Dear volunteers, good morning!
Let's go on!
It is cold, I know, but indoor offers a good insulation from winter weather, and our riders and horses need us.

This is an NBCC approved program and each workshop will focus on increasing practitioner competence in working with specific issues. Through the help of our herd of horses, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how their own process impacts on their client relationships. Workshops will include case study discussions and experiential exercises to demonstrate the theory. No riding experience is necessary.
