Spirit in action today
Dear all, families and volunteers,
thank you so much for all we done together today. Our event were so good because of you doing your part of the big picture to show community what Spirit is and what Spirit does.
As usual, I tried to learn from this one, which was better than any one before, and I am sure that we shall be even better at the December event, and avoid all misunderstanding or gaps, and we did not have a lot of them today, anyway.
It was a long day full of energy, kids excitements, smiles and positive feed back from parents and audience.
Pony rides group did amazing work with over 40 kids!
And you did it all safe and fun for all kids, and it was well organized and supervised by our friend - Sully. Thank you for all you done, and I apologize for my bad that did not create a good poster to force more fundraising goal...so if I fix it we have a perfect crew to rule next show at December. Effie, Lisa, Debbie, Jane, Mary Nichols, and everyone else - Thank you!
Dear boys, Alex, Tim and Eric, not only worked hard during the show, they helped Boris in early morning to clean the field and fill up hay feeders (Horses were thankful, too for it after hard work :), and helped cleaning and sorting things after the event. What a special noble and gentle young man we have (Including Colin and Ethan) at the Spirit Team.
Diane & Susan held a greeting table, with some goodies and information about us. I got a great positive feed back for your apple sauce, Susan! Lady who bought it is delighted and she shared it with me by e-mail.
Thank you for receipt how to make pickles, now I need one for apple sauce :)
I am sorry that did not have a chance to buy one .round, and you improved that segment of our events 150%.
If you did not notice, but , thanks to Diane, we had Reston TV reporter for the whole time of the show, and filming some parents and their comments as well.
This will be a valuable PR tool for our future fundraising and effort to develop our collaboration with County and local schools. Diane you are great!
Jenny and office crew who helped her created feeling of well organized and smooth team work with now gaps at all. I can not believe how we ever did it without Jenny. :)
Karen had total control over the working group in the presentation ring, giving each kid special attention, just enough challenge, and keeping the whole process fun, dynamic and safe.
Maria provided written feedback for our EAL riders who rode dressage intro B test, and I will give it to kids next week. Thank you Maria for managing this challenging job, as your words will give them feedback and experience they need in order to try to ride a real dressage tests in future. We must make you feel confused with a lot of changes and extra riding sequences, as we needed to fill up the time.... forgive me for it and we shall make it better next time, for sure.
Thank you, Cathy, Ilana, Mira, Naomi, for coming after your busy early morning somewhere else, hard work during the whole show, and even sorting a ring afterward. You made Spirit looking even better and more organized.
Mindy, you did amazing job announcing today. Several parents shared with me joy about hearing personal messages about their kiddos, and that should be our future mandatory part of the announcing. Zoe created great sound background which fixed the biggest problem in previous shows.
After all, I am sure that all of you had a chance to recognize how great young people are in Spirit, volunteers, EAL clients, mentors and assistants. They all presented a high level of responsibility, leadership skills, horsemanship, and above all how wonderful caring unselfish young people they are. I hope you are proud of all of them as I am.
Becky, Zoe, Emma, Lisa, Emily, Ayah, Eme and Caroline Waren kept all in order and safe, so my role was minimized and I am thankful for it.
Thank you all, young wonderful people, as you are Spirit's body and energy with horses and in the ring.
Zoe and Becky were managers and were last to leave the field, assuring that all horses are happy and safe, organizing rest of the crew better that I ever did. :)
More than anything else, I miss to hug all and each of you, and say personal Thank you.... My heart is full and I am thankful for this wonderful group of people who is recognizing and supporting Spirit's Mission with time and hard work.
Wish you all a good night and good rest of the week end.
See you next week.
