Dear riders and volunteers.
Please note that during the make up week(s) we shall keep gathering (volunteers) at 5 PM, all make up lessons will start at 6 PM but will finish earlier, just after 7 PM. Only exception is Monday, March 31, which we shall do full two hours make up for lessons canceled during the Class time.
Take care, and stay warm...spring may come any moment :)
This Saturday morning Spirit celebrated Donor Appreciation Day. Can not wait to get all pictures you took, capturing smiles, joy and success of our guests, mentors riding in pony games presentation, proud parents around and in saddle, and hardworking volunteers! Thank you all who helped today - Sue and Karen, instructors, Becky for great management of presentation, Mindy, Sara, Diane, Julia, our BOD members who participated and presented Spirit, and many of great volunteers who kept our event safe and horses happy and kids and guests even happier! Big thanks to our special friends too - 4-H club Hampton Horsefeathers, and the people who helped out Katie Mutchler, Allisa Coles, Mrs. Coles, and Mindy. Thank you all who donated saddles for our program - Mindy, Chloe, Sanda
Saturday 3/22 no lessons at all
Donor Appreciation Day!
We shall share tomorrow morning with SCi company, Spirit's the biggest benefactor and present our Mission.
We are all excited to be able to say Thank you to SCi Team.
Volunteers needed to create one more safe and fun event with Spirit!
See you at 9 AM
I hope you are well and ready for spring time. I can not wait to continue our regular Friday and Saturday schedule.
As you noticed, maybe, we had a chance to do two Sat lessons and it was so inspirational to see some of our kids smiling and successful on horses again.
I am hoping to seeing you this year again in our regular schedule. Please contact me if your plans for spring have changed, so we can offer your spot to someone else.
I am writing this to remind you that we need your full registration form and medical form at the beginning of the calendar year (NOW!) , liability release, and as you do not use the Park contracted program, you should call the Park Visitor Center and purchase a new yearly pass for facility usage as well.
Bring your registration form (with medical part signed by your physician), submit your liability release online, and bring your annual pass to the first lesson in the spring, which is coming soon.
All forms are available at www.spiritequestrian.org.
If you are in need, please submit a Scholarship request ASAP.
Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you.
Sunday, March 16 - 7 p.m. - All Fairfax County public schools and offices will be closed on Monday, March 17.
One more snow day for this 2nd Winter Class
It is gonna be a busy make up period before Spring class in April :)
Due to the severe storm Fairfax County Government offices are closed as well as public schools. All park facilities are closed and all park programs, classes, events and meetings are canceled.
No lessons this Tuesday 03/04
Emma's words for volunteers - "Although not everyone may be able to pull off a sparkly crush velvet suit this evening like Ellen Degeneras, I hope this message does find everyone warm, safe and feeling fabulous as a Hollywood starlet! The Academy Awards finished just in time for the next winter storm to steal the show...
Please, always check the facebook and/or blog before coming. Lessons on Monday and Tuesday 3 and 4/3/2014 have been cancelled. Fairfax County seems prepared though, so we're crossing our fingers (and hooves) that roads will be clear enough to hold lessons for the rest of the week. The horses, meanwhile, are as snug as Whoopi in her long-sleeve dress and ruby slippers."
Thankful for safe stalls during a rainy night, thankful for all and each who donated warm blankets for Spirit herd and thankful to Jeff for coming out so we took care together of our horses. Horses celebrate snow day and no lessons tonight
Titan strikes this time, and it is not a joke.
Schools & Parks are closed
Lesson have to be canceled for tomorrow.
Watch for make up week
On a good note - horses are safe and warm in their stalls tonight, with all hay they may need during the night.
Take care, stay warm and hope to see you all Tuesday
