Home for SPIRIT - Update

Bad news - we lost the race. Seller did not accept our contract andFarm we wanted to purchase will be sold to someone ready to pay it sooner that we were able to do.

Good news - we can focus on financing and fundraising for future for SPIRIT. We are looking for another affordable option for SPIRIT to have a home and continue it's service in the community. With your help, we shall make it happen.

Heat Advisory
Issued: 4:44 AM EDT Jul. 25, 2016 – National Weather Service
... Heat advisory remains in effect from noon today to 8 PM EDT
this evening...

* heat index values... up to 108 due to temperatures between 95 to
100... and dewpoints in the lower 70s.

* Impacts... risk of heat-related illness for those without air-
conditioning or those outdoors for an extended period.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A heat advisory means that a period of high temperatures is
expected. The combination of high temperatures and high humidity
will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible... reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

To reduce risk during outdoor work... the occupational safety and
health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency - call 911.

Keep SPIRIT alive!

Dear Friends of SPIRIT
Amira, Aaron and Sarah sit proud and walk better every day, because of You !
Because of You, our Equine Assisted Learning students learn about life. Your support built a program that improves their life skills through interactions with horses and peers with special needs.
Because of you, our horses have been saved from kill pens. Our horses Sadie, Grace, Samson and others have a new chance in life serving kids, youth and seniors of all abilities in our community.
Now, SPIRIT is in danger of losing our current home and our opportunity to serve our community.
We are inviting YOU to help us again through your support of our Home for SPIRIT campaign. We are fundraising now for a down payment for a perfect farm, close to our current place, that can be a home to our programs and horses.
All of us - the children, families, volunteers, horses, and the whole Spirit Team, will be thankful for your help, any amount that you can give. With your support, we hope to see you and to celebrate together the real forever Home for Spirit at this farmette only 20 minutes from Frying Pan Farm Park.
Our intention is to serve as long as possible at Frying Pan Farm park, but this purchase will provide a safe home and space for continuing Spirit service for those who need it.
We hope that you will choose to be part of Spirit’s miracle again and to make this happen. By sending your check you are supporting a good cause that provides a future for a life changing program in our community.
Please share our story with your friends and family and continue to create a future for the Spirit Mission.
Thank you in advance,
Spirit Team
